    根據英國《衛報》報導，抗爭者們質疑川普未來的政策走向，無論是在婦女權利、全球化發展、經濟及環境保護、同性戀權利等，他的目標都會使美國倒退，指稱他是個種族主義者。也有許多人質疑選舉人制度，表示民主黨候選人希拉蕊(Hillary Clinton)明明得票數較多，卻因為選舉人團制度而落敗。

    自11月8日川普(Donald Trump)確定當選美國總統以來，美國各地的示威抗議活不斷。抗議活動橫跨整個美國，從紐約到洛杉磯，總共延續了四個晚上，多數是抗議川普對移民、婦女權利、環境保護、同志權利等政策和發言。

    12日大型示威活動在美國各地持續舉行，最大型的位於紐約、洛杉磯及芝加哥。紐約的示威者們舉著標語「不是我的總統」(Not my president)及「愛戰勝恨」(love trumps hate)等標語，從第五大道(Fifth Avenue)一路走到川普大廈(Trump Tower)的門口。他們發出憤怒的噓聲。
